Pizza night &
backyard flights

One easy evening. A little fresh air. Something to make together.

ABOUT 1 HOUR · AGES 5+ WITH AN ADULT · USE WHAT YOU HAVE

01   Head outside

You need: scrap paper and sidewalk chalk.

  1. Fold a paper airplane for each person. Fold a sheet in half lengthwise and reopen it. Fold the top corners to the center crease, then fold the slanted edges to the center again. Fold in half along the first crease and fold down the two wings.
  2. Draw three landing circles with chalk. Choose a starting line a few steps away.
  3. Take turns aiming for a circle. Bring the line closer for younger children. Leave space between throwers and aim away from people.
  4. Change one fold and try again. Which plane glides farthest? Which lands closest?

Rainy evening? Use paper landing targets in a clear hallway.

02   Make dinner together

You need: ready-made pizza bases, pizza sauce, shredded cheese, and favorite toppings.

  1. Check the package for oven temperature and cooking time. An adult handles the oven, hot trays, and any chopping.
  2. Set out the toppings in small bowls. Let everyone top and name their own pizza.
  3. Bake according to the pizza-base package instructions. Use ready-to-eat or fully cooked toppings.
  4. Bring your pizzas to the table and ask the question below.

Choose ingredients that suit your household’s dietary needs. Keep it simple: cheese pizza counts.

Ask at the table

“If our family opened a restaurant, what would we call it?”

Have ten extra minutes? Draw a menu for your restaurant on scrap paper.
